The Apex Club of Narromine held its changeover on Saturday July 12 at the Narromine USMC.
The theme for the night was the letter ‘B’ in honour of retiring long- serving member Brian Tobin who after turning 45 had to step down after over 20 years of dedicated service to Apex.
Those present at the dinner included boxers, bikers, bank robbers, Bob the Builder, Barbie, and a number of Brian Tobin impersonators depicting him across the years.
Outgoing president Troy Haidle hosted the awards ceremony with Mick Bell being crowned Apexian of the Year as well as receiving the Brian Earl Memorial Trophy.
The Service Shield was awarded to new member Ray Watson for his major contribution to service projects over the past year.
Mick Bell in his capacity as District Governor conducted the changeover to incoming President Paul Bennett for the 2008/2009 year.
The new President outlined his focus for the next year and the need for the club to urgently attract new members if the Club is to survive and continue serving the community as it has done for the past 50 years.
Any young men or women under the age of 45 and wanting to make a difference in their local community are encouraged to contact any member of Apex to find out more.
