Emerging local artist and photographer Lea Tucker will present her first solo photographic exhibition at the Narromine CWA Hall this weekend.
The exhibition titled A Sense of Home, Narromine evolved out of a challenge Lea set herself earlier this year to explore her local environment.
“From my perspective I love looking through the lens of a camera and it’s great to be able to share my vision of Narromine with the local community,” she said.
The photographs are of local content in a mixed array of sizes, printed on a number of photographic mediums.
Mrs Tucker said the collection would be of interest and familiarity to everyone.
“They are classic shots that you see every day, but when you put them up you get a renewed vision of our own environment.
“I’ve taken it more of my view of Narromine trying to find the beauty, and there is beauty everywhere, whether it’s drought ridden or not.”
Mrs Tucker has lived in Narromine for eight years and also dabbles in abstract painting and mixed media.
“I do a lot with recycled collage and include my photos into my art,” she said.
A Fine Arts Graduate from Dubbo TAFE, Lea completed the Diploma of Fine Arts with Distinctions in Digital Imaging and Sculpture.
All proceeds from the $2 entry fee to the exhibition will be donated to the CWA for the benefit of the local community.
Mrs Tucker has also donated a matted photograph entitled The Long Paddock to be raffled by the CWA.
“From my perspective it was good that I can give back to the CWA and I love the fact the funds raised goes back to the community,” she said.
“I’m really looking forward to presenting my works to the local community and get some feedback of what people think.”
