Local businesses urged to get involved in shire’s showcase

Narromine Shire Showcase is a community event planned for Saturday September 6.

The event is intended to attract new residents and businesses to our shire.

If you are a business or community organisation and would like to be involved in this event, please contact our Community Services Manager Sally Bourchier on 6889 2601.

Narromine Shire Council will conduct FREE food handling training courses for local food business and community groups.

The training courses will be held at the CTC building on Burroway Street on Monday July 21 and Thursday July 24, from 10am to 12.30pm and 5.30pm to 8pm on both days.

The food handling

training course is a user-friendly computer based program, and includes

an entertaining presentation as well as interactive

quizzes.

A certificate is presented upon completion, which can be kept for display in the food premises.

Council wishes to advise that our Heritage Advisor will visit Narromine on Monday July 28 2008.

To make an appointment please contact council’s planning manager Melissa Ward on 6889 9999.

Council, at its meeting held on June 17 2008, resolved to establish an alcohol free zone in the following areas:

o Cathundril Street, from Dandaloo Street to Algalah Street;

o Temoin Street, from Cathundril Street to Jerry Smith Street; and

o Dandaloo Street, from Cathundril Street to Commodore Crescent.

In accordance with section 644A of the Local Government Act, 1993, council invites representations on the proposal

from residents of Narromine, Trangie and Tomingley.

Representation can be made by lodging a

formal submission to

the general manager, Narromine Shire Council, 124 Dandaloo Street, Narromine.

Submissions will be received up to the close of business today.
