Cotton farmers in the local area gained an invaluable insight into some of the tools available to them to carry them through the tough times at a recent seminar.
Held as one of a series of seminars across NSW and Queensland, the “Growing Cotton’s Future - Tools for Managing the Drought” seminar was attended by more than 50 local Trangie growers and offered a forum for not only gaining all the latest information from expert speakers on how they can best manage their farm, but also allowed the town’s local community to exchange ideas on ways they can maintain their business.
Cotton Australia CEO Adam Kay said it was great to see such a great turnout of local growers and he was glad to have such great feedback about the seminars.
The seminars come at a critical time for Australia’s struggling rural communities and showcased what some growers are doing in order to manage low water allocation years and featured practical advice from expert speakers across a range of topics.
