Bill Shaw, Mark Collins and Geoff Anderson have won the 2008 B grade triples title defeating John Everett, Mark Hilder and Alex Sambrook in a highly entertaining game of bowls.
Billy and co were always in control, however the young guns were highly competitive and made their opposition work hard all game.
Both teams are to be congratulated for reaching the final.
The number twos kick-started their campaign on Sunday when they met Parkes.
Narromine was sitting pretty at the half-way mark holding a comfortable 20 shot lead but the home side fought hard and got within two with only one end to play.
Full credit to the Narromine side who held on for a three shot win and came away with a 5-1 result.
The top grade is at home this week and will be out to stretch their lead, fingers crossed they can come up with the goods.
The grade six squad wrapped up their section on the weekend defeating Wellington with ease.
Narromine dominated the match and came away with a 6-0 result. The grade six boys now advance to the district playoffs and we wish them all the best.
The grade seven squad has missed the boat going down to Railway on Sunday. The Narromine boys tried their best but went down 5-1.
A grade singles started on Saturday with eight matches being contested.
Terry Scott defeated Ray Cross, Peter Cross defeated Bruce Maher, Aaron Hutchison defeated Pat Randell, Robbie Stanford defeated Bruce Livingston in a thriller, Des Lincoln just edged out Don Sullivan, James Daley enjoyed a come from behind win against Kevin Rider while Dave McNair recorded a solid win over Luke Hutchison.
A Grade singles matches for this Saturday are: D McNair v T Scott, P Cross v J Edwards, C Stevens v S Buttsworth, J Silk v C Bullock, R Bohm v B Coupe, R Stanford v A Hutchison, D Lincoln v J Daley jr.
Matches start at 1.30pm and are play or forfeit. Markers required are K Rider, L Hutchison, R Cross, B Maher, B Livingston, P Randell, D Sullivan and R Schroder.
Thursday social bowls saw 38 bowlers take to the greens with M McIntyre and M Hilder talking out the winners prize while M Hing, R Haddon and N Newman picked up the runner-up trophy for their efforts.
Bullock has luck to win voucher, raffle
WOMEN’S BOWLS: May 20 saw a good roll up for social bowls. It did turn into a very cold morning.
The voucher winners were Anna Jones, Jan Buswell and Ruth Bullock. The raffle was won by Ruth Bullock.
We had a team go to Tullamore on May 21 for the Muriel Clemen’s Memorial Day.
There is a card on the board for the A and B singles championships. We have a State carnival from June 2 to 4, Marj is organising a roster for helpers and Jackie’s Bowls Shop will be here for the carnival.
