Jets turn on power in clash against Magpies

Narromine Jets challenged the Forbes Magpies at Cale Oval on May 11 for round three. All three grades put on entertaining and rewarding performances resulting in a draw and two wins.

Under 18s started the day off with good defence and attacking skills, which saw them lead with a score of 12-6 until the last minutes where Forbes went over with a final try and conversion to even the scores.

Man of the match went to Todd Porter. Try scorers were Jarrah McCreadie and Kale Bock and Tom O’Connor scored two goals.

Reserve grade had another outstanding win beating the Magpies 34-10.

All players played exceptionally well in all areas of the game. Tries were scored by Will Middleton (3) Clive Toomey , TJ Fuller and Mick Walsh. Goals were scored by Simon Hartas (4) and Stan Fernando and man of the match went to Will Middleton.

First grade had their first win of the season beating Forbes 26-20. The boys showed great defensive skills and made it an entertaining performance. Man of the match went to Dale Hennessey.

Try scorers were Luke Harding (2), Anthony Toomey, Terry Clarke and Mark Kilby while Mark Kilby scored three goals. Well done to all players.

The Jets come up against Dubbo CYMS this weekend in Dubbo on Sunday with kick- off at noon.
